Tibet Lhasa

The Holy City

Lhasa

"TAHSI DELEK" i have heard these two words a thousand times in Lhasa they mean "good luck' in the language of Tibet and indeed i feel as if i have been blessed with good luck from the first moment i enter the holy city of Lhasa.

there is some thing about Tibet that touches the heart and soul, leaving on indelible mark. it takes only a single step into one of Lhas's candle-lit monasteries to realize that you are come to a place unlike any other on Earth.
Surrounded by snow - capped mountains, it is a land full of astonishing beuity, from the deep water of Turquoise lake to the walled citadel that is Potala Place. then there are the traditional restaurants with their breathtaking views of Lhasa's ancient streets allowing you to watch the gentle rhythms of Lhasa's people as they go about daily life some to pray, others to play.
for me the essence of Lhasa is exemplified by its people, from the monks debating within their templs to the ordinary person who offer you a cup of butter tea, they are as wellcoming as their unique home land.

hope things will calm down soon and once again i have a chance to visit there.
